status of the industry.
EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS COUNCIL
The newly established Emergency Preparedness Council has
undertaken the important goal of developing an integrated
emergency planning process and plan that will mitigate
business and community disruption and personal injury in the
event of crises and disasters in Century City. The Council
works with building managers, businesses, government
officials and agencies, including law enforcement, fire
department, FBI and Homeland Security. When complete, in
September, the plan will facilitate mutual support and aid
among businesses and residents of Century City,
supplementing the standard emergency services and response
provided by the City and County of Los Angeles. The Council
will continue to update their plans, have periodic practice
exercises and take actions necessary to provide a viable
response in the event of an emergency.

MARKETING AND MEMBERSHIP
COUNCIL
Century City is a prominent business community comprised of
major industry sectors: legal, financial, entertainment,
hospitality, medical, professional services, and retail. The
business district has approximately ten million square feet
of Class A office space. Each of these businesses, and their
employees, are important members of a community that
contribute to this area’s economic prosperity. The Marketing
and Membership Council recognizes this and strives to be an
advocate of the Chamber by serving as liaison between the
Chamber and its members, by assisting the Chamber in
developing strategies for Membership development and
retention and by assisting the Chamber in creating
membership benefits and services.
TRANSPORTATION COUNCIL
The Century City Chamber of Commerce recently formed a
Transportation Council to address issues of mobility to and
around the Century City area. This Council will review long
term transportation plans and proposed improvements
currently under review by state and local agencies for
Century City and the Westside. The “T” Council’s focus is to
provide the business community and others with information
about transportation issues and proposed solutions that
affect all of us that live and work within the Century City
community.
